Our lab is involved in several collaborative projects within the DBT funded program Study of Chemical Ecology-Northeast India Collaboration. Within in this program Axel also co-guides three PhD students, Jaya Narah and Nyaton Kitnya (Prof. Jharna Chakravorty, RG University, Arunchal Pradesh) and Ranjana Mutum (Dr. Shantibala; IBSD Manipur)
Bumble bees and honey bees in the Himalayas
In collaboration with Prof Jharna Chakravorty from Rajiv Gandhi University (Arunachal Pradesh) and colleagues from Germany and Austria we are mapping bumble bee species in Arunachal Pradesh. So far, we collected and documented the collection location of 636 specimen from 19 species. The specimen are deposited at the NCBS collection facility. Our collection is unique worldwide. We are currently preparing a manuscript on this collection.

Foreign Collaborators: Johannes Spaethe and Thomas Schmitt (University of Wuerzburg, Germany); Martin Streinzer (University of Vienna, Austria), and Johan Neumayer (Salzburg, Austria)
